Van Dijke Combiwashers were the first machines that Van Dijke brought to market. These machines are characterised by combining three functions in one: destoning, washing and leaf separation. This machine also has a compact footprint, making it easier to install when space is limited.

The combi washer is equipped with a destoner at the infeed. A rock conveyor (which can be positioned on the left or right side of the outfeed) first separates the heavy parts (clods/stones) from the product. The product is carried along with the water flow into the drum.
The drumwasher ensures that the product is washed. A dosing valve is located at the end of the drum, which can be used to determine the filling of the drum (the amount of product in the drum). This can be fully automated by means of an electronic loading system.
A leaf separator is mounted on the discharge conveyor (can be selected on the left or right side) to ensure that floating parts are removed from the product flow.
Combination or separate units?
If you want to achieve optimal washing results, you can opt for a separate destoner and washer (possibly supplemented with a leaf separator). The advantage of separate units is that the destoner and washer both have their own water supply and can be set to different levels independently of each other. This is not possible with a combi machine.
The end result is also cleaner, because the destoner can run with relatively dirtier water and remove all loose sand/sludge and stones/clods. This allows washing with cleaner water in the washer. For more information, see the pages on the destoner and drumwasher
